Position: Director of Business Development
Location: Batavia, IL
Duration: Permanent
Compensation: to $120,000
Education: Bachelors degree; marketing emphasis, or equivalent combination and/ or training. Experience: ?Minimum 5 years business development within the utility industry or related field ?Demonstrated results in building new client base and growing existing accounts. ?Proven ability to sell multiple lines of business ?Prior experience producing highly professional proposals and presentations ?Experience with budgeting processes. ?Strong analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills. ?This position is responsible for overseeing the business development function for our power, telecom, wind and gas distribution lines of business in the Midwest and Southern regions of the US and central Canadian provinces. ?This includes managing business development professionals as well as performing business development and marketing activities including: planning, strategy, and establishing goals and budget requirements for developing new business In conjunction with the Executive Leadership, develop objectives and strategies in support of overall corporate business development goals in the assigned region;
?Perform and manage research and client contact to identify and prioritize potential customers; ?Prepare and execute business development action plans and capture strategies for specific targets; ?Supervise the development of proposals, presentations and brochure materials. Train and assist project personnel committed in proposals to make effective presentations; ?Meet client's needs prior to contract execution. Provide advice, liaison, planning, etc. to prospective and current clients; ?Track and report on status of all proposal components; ?Set up and meet with current and potential clients for the purpose of capturing additional service opportunities; ?Assess client needs to optimize up-selling and cross-selling opportunities across lines of service; ?Draft the narrative that ties the project components together; in addition to packaging and assisting in presenting the proposal to the sponsoring agency. ?Perform additional assignments as requested by the Region Vice President.
