Executive Job Description | Responsible for driving line extensions while simultaneously establishing an ongoing innovation pipeline of large volume, new-to-the-world products for Consumer Products business.
This includes (1) identifying color and design trends, (2) determining white space opportunities to define new products/segments that address unmet consumer needs, (3) leading brainstorm sessions with internal teams and/or external agencies, (4) partnering with internal teams and/or external agencies to develop and execute market research, (5) assisting in the development of new product launches. Must have experience leading innovation process from concept development through launch.
Leads the "trend group" to drive all line extensions by identifying trends related to color & design Identifies potential new products/segments through white space analysis Utilizes brainstorm & market research techniques to generate new product ideas. Participates in development & execution of market research to validate concepts among consumers and ensure new products meet corporate revenue/margin benchmarks. Works closely with purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to assess new product feasibility/timing and uncover new technologies, materials, etc. as part of the innovation process. Assists in the development of pricing, sales/volume planning, forecasting and capital planning as it relates to new products. Works with marketing team, cross-functional teams and outside agencies to develop new product packaging, branding strategy and launch plans. Creates and executes short and long-term innovation calendar. Delivers new products on time and on budget. *Will perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
BS Degree in Marketing or related field; MBA a plus. At least 5 years consumer products marketing experience with at least 3 years with a specific focus in new product development or innovation. CPG industry experience required. Must have experience with innovation market research methods and be able to successfully lead cross-functional teams. Excellent strategic, analytical, organizational and presentation skills. Must be willing to travel when necessary.
