Executive Job Description | Key Responsibilities:
Drive and manage the accuracy, compliance, performance and effectiveness of the Human Resource Accounting, Payroll and HRIS services. Provide oversight of payroll administration and processing for company and nineteen (19) subsidiaries and affiliate company employees including National and Rotating Staff on bi-weekly and monthly pay cycles. Manage and run payroll processes of all employee data from new hire through termination, including year-end processing, time recording, and payroll tax filing. Oversee timely and accurate accounting of large budgets for pension, 401K, medical, other insurances and inter-company invoices. Identify and make recommendations for potential improvements to accounting and payroll programs, processes, systems and policies which enhance, create efficiencies, reduce costs and protect company's assets. Work closely with company Accounting Department to ensure HR accounts follow company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements, and that expenses and income are properly invoiced, paid, balanced and reconciled. Counsel and advise employees and managers on matters concerning payroll and HR related accounting matters. Work closely with company and external audit functions to ensure compliance with company-wide and legislated compliance requirements and regulations. Manage requirements for new acquisitions and divestitures. Work with outside vendors including ADP and Diversified Investment Advisors. Coordinate special projects as required. Assist in implementation of HR technology and new accounting software. Manage, train, develop and evaluate a small professional team.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources and/or related field. Certification of PHR, SPHR, or CCP preferred. 7+ years of hands-on experience in the areas of human resources, accounting (reconciliation, balancing, general ledger) and payroll. Previous management experience in HR accounting and payroll, HRIS and familiarity with benefits administration. HR shared services experience with strong customer service focus. Experience in HRIS self-service environments. Exceptional project management skills. Strong third party vendor relations, vendor management, and contract negotiations skills. Ability to work in a multi-cultural business environment. Experience in a large, complex and multi-state company. Excellent analytical and organizational skills required. Proven track record of promotion and professional advancement. Proficient at basic accounting principles and systems to include general ledger, balancing, reconciliation and adhoc projects.
