Executive Job Description | JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Do you thrive on challenge? Do you have an adventurous streak? Is your reputation that of delivering projects on time and budget? A large, diversified, integrated mining company requires a Project Director to act as the #1IC of engineering, developing, constructing and commissioning a $1B+ greenfield copper mine and concentrator in Asia. As the owner’s representative, you will report to the General Director and directly supervise the Construction, HSE, Finance and Supply Chain Managers. At peak activity, there will be 4,000 employees and contractors working on the project. You are specifically responsible for delivering the project on time, on budget and on quality to the owner’s team in 2014 with a special emphasis on safety. This is a residential role based in Almaty, Kazakhstan and periodic travel is required to the project site. You will build and maintain effective working relationships with numerous stakeholders to include Company executives, engineering and EPCM firms and various other internal and external groups. This is a high visibility, high demand role and you will be rewarded in accordance with your responsibility and performance. Work is highly specialized and requires a high degree of judgment and problem solving abilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Previous track record of delivering $1B+ mining projects in superior fashion required. Proven and capable leadership with a “we make it happen” attitude required. Excellent verbal and written communicator to a wide variety of people and groups—some with competing interests, required. You are an adaptable yet decisive decision maker who can keep the project planning and execution moving forward within Company guidelines, goals and objectives required. Prior experience in large, copper projects highly desired. Prior international experience required; prior FSU experience highly desired. English fluency required, Russian language skill desired.
