The Company Core Molding Technologies, Inc. (CORE) is a molder of fiberglass reinforced plastics (FRP) and compounder of sheet molding compound (SMC). CORE’s processing capabilities include the compression molding of SMC, vacuum assisted resin infusion molding, spray up and hand lay up processes. CORE produces high quality fiberglass reinforced, molded products and SMC material with polyester and vinylester for varied markets, including medium and heavy-duty trucks, automobiles, personal watercraft and other commercial products.
THE OPPORTUNITY The next Plant Manager of CORE’s Matamoros Plant will be responsible for day to day operations of the company’s largest RTM/spray layup, and compression molding composites facility. Duties include manufacturing, logistics, quality, safety, environmental, HR, scheduling, and finance. Managing plant operations and processing with respect to product quality, customer service & delivery, safety, manufacturing efficiencies/cost management, environmental controls, and proper maintenance are key areas. Position Overview This position will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, Steve Klestinec and will be considered part of CORE’s senior management team. The successful candidate will manage a team of senior staff at the Matamoros plant. These professionals are self starters with over all collective strength; that work very well together. The Plant Manager will be CORE's primary representative at the Matamoros facility. As such, the successful candidate will have a presence that fosters confidence in the Company's ability to deliver. The candidate will possess attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and leadership skills. The candidate will necessarily be able to function effectively in this maquiladora operation. As such, a capacity and / or a willingness to learn Spanish and develop an understanding of both American and Latin American cultures will be important. If Spanish is the candidate’s first language, candidate must demonstrate a strong fluency in both written and spoken English. This position will be replacing the current Plant Manager who is being transferred to the corporate headquarters in Columbus, OH. The new Plant Manager will be spending considerable time with both the current Plant Manager and the COO to insure a smooth transition and indoctrination. Specific Responsibilities • Development of operating budgets and controls for expenditures • As the plant manager, this individual will help set the direction of the facility forin continuous improvement in all aspects of the operation, customer quality, plant safety, process discipline, predictive maintenance, 5S & housekeeping, operational effectiveness, cost improvements, etc • Continued development of the Staff support group into a high performance team to support both personal development and operation objectives. CANDIDATE PROFILE Experience • Has had an operations role in a multiple product/process facility • Experience in fiberglass reinforced molding processes preferred • The candidate will have a solid engineering/mechanical aptitude to the degree necessary to understand and manage the processes and equipment involved in the manufacturing process • The candidate's prior experience will include P&L responsibility. The candidate's financial acumen will be sufficient to analyze performance against expectations and determine actions where necessary. • In the candidate's background will be work reflecting an understanding of quality systems and the ability to drive improvements in manufacturing processes and organizational culture to exceed customer expectations of quality. • Managing and developing of staff will be evidenced in the candidates work experience. • Minimum of 10 years experience in manufacturing environment • At least two of which must be in top leadership role • Experience in lean systems and quality systems • Experience with new product launches • Experience in composites manufacturing preferred but not required • Experience in managing multiple processes within a single manufacturing plant is a requirement • Customer interaction is critical with frequent customer communication • Mentoring personnel on a daily basis
Initial Challenges • Absorbing the complexity of multiple products and all of the manufacturing processes of CORE • Expect six new project launches per year. Improvement needs to be made in process discipline (quality); the goals are continuing improvement in all areas

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required in business or a technical area or equivalent.
