Executive Job Description | TITLE: PROGRAM DIRECTOR
REPORTS TO: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The Director is a recognized leader in the company and has overall responsibilities for planning, directing, and coordinating department-wide program activities. This position develops, implements, and monitors program policies and procedures, and complies with pertinent regulations. Will be responsible for effectively leading functional organizations to integrate research and development, production, quality assurance, test, product support, procurement, contractual and financial data; managing the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs; participating in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes; coordinating the preparation of proposals, proposal work assignments and specifications, operations and support activities; and participating in managing operating budgets and financial terms or conditions of contracts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Marketplace and customer needs, objectives and expectations. •Extensive knowledge of company product lines, policies and procedures. •Program Management practices, including program planning, risk management, issue escalation, schedule and resource management. •General financial and budgetary management principles and practices, •Human Resources management practices, including supervision, selection, training and discipline. •Contract negotiation techniques and administration. •Negotiation strategies of assigned programs. •Engineering and manufacturing fundamentals and terminology. •Program area, regulations, policies and procedures. •Write policies and procedures, and prepare complex reports and recommendations. •Motivate, develop, and direct people as they work. •Provide management to program staff, including direct reports and those assigned to programs from other departments, through consultation, supervision, and liaison activities. •Communicate effectively with all levels of management and individual contributors internally and externally to the company. •Make program or project changes based on analysis of results, new legislation, contractual, or departmental changes. •Effectively represent the department to other departments and agencies, and before public entities. •Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, such as program participants, and other staff and representatives from other organizations. •Create and give successful presentation(s) to management and customers. Provide clear, concise and easily understandable information.
REQUIREMENTS:
•A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline. •Minimum 10+ years of experience in Aerospace and Defense industry. •Must have the ability to direct and control the overall organizational resources and requires supervisory and administrative skills, including the ability to select, appraise, motivate and develop subordinates. •Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline is a plus with demonstrated managerial level of leadership.
COMPENSATION:
$150,000-200,000 + Bonus, great benefits, & paid relocation
