$20Mil revenue agency, and one of Alaska’s largest, has this replacement position due to an upcoming retirement (first quarter of 2012). The agency is extremely well capitalized. About 80% of its revenue / commissions are on the commercial side, with balance being a pretty equal split between benefits and personal lines. The position has 5 direct reports. It would be a reasonable expectation, assuming you perform your responsibilities positively, for you to receive a + 6 figure bonus. Relocation assistance is available and can be tailored on a case by case basis (probably no real estate purchase). Alaska was recently named a top 10 in the nation for happy people. Primary Functions: Assure profitable agency operations and maintain a high leadership profile in the community and insurance industry.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for timely execution of the business plan. 2. Ensure the efficiency, effectiveness and control of operations consistent with income goals and service expectations. 3. Ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to the insurance industry. 4. Keep abreast of related industry, professional and technological trends, issues, products and/or services, as applicable, to ensure the current and future effectiveness and profitability of the brokerage. 5. Assist in the development of the parent organization's goals and strategies. 6. Serve and actively participate in various executive management committees, as assigned. 7. Represent the brokerage and seek leadership positions in community, professional and trade associations, as assigned. 8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements: Education - Bachelor's degree in business-related field. Experience Required - Ten years' experience in insurance industry with six years in progressively more responsible executive management positions.
