Job Description: General Manager Ophthalmic Business Unit
Senior VP and General Manager of the Ophthalmic Business Unit Position reports to CEO
PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN THE OPHTHALMIC MARKET THIS IS A MUST!
Responsible for: Design of the Business Units overall profitable business strategy and implementation of the business plan within the segment including organic and inorganic growth i.e. alliances, partnerships and M&A activities Complete P&L responsibility for the Ophthalmic Business currently at about $60M per year. Product Roadmaps The Ophthalmic engineering group Product Management (definition, functionality, etc) Pricing and distribution strategy Competitive analysis On going relationship development with opinion leaders and presentation of COMPANY in relevant industry and professional forums. All Marketing activities of the segment including branding; identification of market needs & customer pain; solutions provided by companies core technologies to be made available in new applications. Luminaries of the segment Sales & training materials
Expertise: At least 10 years in senior management roles within Ophthalmic market preferably in the medical devices field. Proven track record in product management, sales & marketing within the ophthalmic market. Team management experience Intimate knowledge of clinical applications (including clinical trials, regulatory, reimbursement) and cutting-edge R&D trends in Ophthalmology. Previous experience in roles with P&L responsibility. Experience in global activities, developing markets
Other: Location Salt Lake City or the Bay Area first choice. Will consider allowing candidate to stay where they are depending on the candidates background and personal situation The position required extensive travel national and international
