QUALIFICATIONS: Must be US Citizen or Authorized to Work in the United States 15+ years Logistics / Supply Chain / Inventory & Materials Management experience (5+ years of senior management experience within a 3PL environment) required Management experience serving in a Heavy Machinery manufacturing/production environment as a 3PL provider Must have a track record of success managing a business unit of comparable scale (e.g. $25M+ facility/labor expenses, multiple facilities, 500+ employees, Fortune 500 client) and broad scope (e.g. combination of manufacturing, distribution/warehousing, transportation, etc.) Documented success in Inventory Accuracy using older, legacy systems in an environment that includes on kitting, sequencing, cycle counts, picklists, and overall quality Experience managing a large number of SKUs in both WIP and finished goods state Track record of success solving a variety of production/distribution issues with speed and safety Turnaround and/or change management experience strongly preferred Financial and analytical acumen; P&L responsibilities and analyzing customer metrics BS Degree required; advanced degree preferred. APICS and/or Six Sigma certifications desired The ideal candidate will have senior management experience within a fast-paced 3PL environment providing logistics services to heavy machinery clients using legacy systems. Distribution and/or Production environment experience and a track record of success developing and coordinating top-performing teams and delivering outstanding results with a customer-service orientation is a must. He or she will be able to meet challenges and satisfy a demanding customer with confidence and resourcefulness and will be extremely motivated to succeed - high energy and strong sense of urgency and drive are essential for success in this role.
The ideal Manager will be excited to work hands on with their team members and walk the floor often - this is not a desk job.
CAREER OPPORTUNITY: As General Manager, you will oversee the activities of three facilities with a "hands on" approach. You will support teams that should be known for exceptional efficiency and quality control. Some of the tools you must have expertise in to accomplish these goals include Inventory & Materials Management Best Practices, Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques, value stream mapping, CPS, standard work/process engineering, cross-functional deployment maps, multi-generational project plans and key performance indicator scorecards.
Scope: Heavy machinery (low volume / high quality) assembly (from simple sub-assembly to complex builds), distribution / warehousing (parts, WIP, and finished goods), and transportation (local and regional); from 650-700 employees and 1-1.5M square feet among three facilities, multiple shifts; opportunities for metrics improvement, change management, and Black Belt projects.
Monitors achievement of required Divisional performance levels for Productivity, Staffing / Employee Relations, Quality, Safety, and Profitability Maintains relationships with internal and external customers Develops, monitors, and maintains relevant operational performance metrics.
Kitting / Sequencing / Cycle Counts / Picklists / Inventory Accuracy Material tracking and planning with customer/supplier Inventory management / On-time Delivery and tracking with customer/supplier Production / Assembly quality, accuracy, and schedule Manpower utilization, planning, and implementation Drives accountability for performance to subordinate managers through incentive programs Develops revenue forecasts and operating budgets with Accounting Participates in analysis of budget variance(s)
