COMPANY OVERVIEW

Our Client makes a variety of coatings and paints for manufacturing, automotive, and food-packaging companies, as well as for consumers.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The General Manager, Architectural Spray reports to the Vice President of Coil and Extrusion Coatings North America,

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS


RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for Profit & Loss of Global Architectural Spray business within the Coil/Extrusion Business Group.
• Own and manage sales, margin and operating profit to meet targets.
• Prepare target account priorities, develop growth actions and ensure business is meeting contractual and warranty obligations
• Assist with the creation and maintenance of Strategic Business Plan
• Engage cross functionally with Director of Marketing to plan product offering, optimize pricing, and align with corporate branding initiatives.
• Own, manage, effect and optimize business processes.
• Interact with manufacturing and administration teams coordinating customer requirements, product & process issues, forecasting, and areas where product manufacturing & administration plans intersect.
• Execute scheduled forecasting and be accountable for achieving forecasted numbers.
• Provide overall strategic direction and lead the execution of strategic initiatives for the North America business group.
• Primary emphasis for this role will be leading business development and growth initiatives, with immediate emphasis placed on sales and marketing.


REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

A Bachelors degree in Business or Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Chemical Sciences is required. A Masters of Business Administration is preferred. Foreign language skills and/or exposure to a global/international business setting are a plus

EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years working in an industrial environment; prefer coatings or specialty chemicals including 5+ years sales experience.
• Experience managing and developing a sales force
• Sales experience in multiple functional business areas including but not limited to: Finance, Engineering, Manufacturing, etc.
• Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
• Broad business acumen and understanding of various business disciplines (operations, technical, administrative, finance, etc.).
• Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment and across organizational disciplines to shape and execute business group initiatives.
• Commitment to process innovation and continuous improvement with the ability to deliver practical, creative solutions.
• Experience managing/developing employees.
• Strong communication and influence skills.
• Commitment to customer relationship and focus on world-class customer satisfaction.
• Available for travel requirements, estimated to be at least 50%.
