Executive Job Description | An Executive Vice President is needed for a financially stable and secure Southeast regional, market leading, distributor, with multiple branches, for a commercial and industrial product line. This role will have Profit and Loss responsibility, report direct to the CEO & Owner and lead an organization of approximately 50 employees (exempt & hourly) producing $50 million annual sales. This position has a potential career path, (to be earned) to COO for parent company.

This role, with P & L responsibility, will work collaboratively with the CEO & Owner to develop and implement a broad business vision to establish industry’s best practices, business excellence and a Strategic Growth Plan; all with objectives that are compatible with the best interests of owner, customers, exempt and hourly employees.

Fifteen (15) years experience is needed in the industrial distribution market with a track record of accomplishments and career advancing roles. Managerial experience should include: organization, warehouse operations, inventories, sales, processes/systems/software, pricing, managerial accounting, market assessment and growth through expansion and acquisitions.
A proven track record with accomplishments to validate skills & abilities to lead an organization for continuous improvement is needed. Experience should include Profit & Loss responsibility for a company or division or department in an industrial distribution environment.
Candidate must be knowledgeable and proficient to create, gain approval and lead the implementation of a Strategic Business Plan for the established organization and growth through expansion and/or acquisitions.
Selected candidate must have solid business acumen with skills, abilities, and successful experience to create and execute long range continuous improvement initiatives for all areas of the business. A strategic, yet practical “thinker” is needed.
Candidate must have strong decision making skills based on sound, rational and proven managerial principles, concepts and objective data to serve as a positive change agent for creating, launching and leading the continuous improvement initiative throughout the company and to improve company performance and profitability.
Knowledge of Managerial Accounting, a financial understanding, and skills to create, gain approval, implement and control variances are needed for operating, labor and capital budgets.
Skills and abilities are needed to assess areas of improvement for managers and staff throughout the organization and to develop and implement appropriate programs. A desire and willingness to coach and mentor others is needed.
An undergraduate degree is required; a graduate degree is preferred and any advanced managerial continuing education/training/certifications will be a plus.
