MUST HAVE (FIRM) 7 to 10 years of experience Master's Degree
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for all phases of project development in the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC). Responsible for the planning and execution of project development from project inception to financial closure. Manage a multi-disciplinary team of internal Calpine resources and external consultants to implement the development of assigned projects. Identify project opportunities, develop the conceptual design, preapare cost estimates and create the financial proformas. Lead the EPC bid process, valuation and resulting contract negotiations. Additionally participate/support the negotiaitons of other project development and implementation agreements as required. Coodinate development activities with Origination, Trading, Structuring, Finance, Legal, Operations, etc., to ensure thorough analysis and appropriate structuring of projects. Job Requirements: Bachelors degree, MBA preferred Minimum of 7 years increasingly responsibile experience in the development and/or management of power projects Power plant development experience and proven success Solid understanding and contract documentation Substantial experience and proven success in the permitting process Sunstantial experience analyzing and negotiating complex commercial documentation Overall knowledge of power plant operations Familiarity of electric transmission and interconnection contracting. Must have the ability to take initiative and work independently - Must have an entrepreneurial attitude and a diplomatic approach Willing to travel frequently
