DESCRIPTION: Headquartered in Europe, our client is a leading international photovoltaic systems integrator. The company plans, builds and operates large photovoltaic plants and is a specialist wholesaler for complete power plants, solar modules, components and accessories. It has become the market leader in the planning and construction of solar power plants.
Our client has grown significantly; from $360M in 2007 to over $665M in 2009. The company is expanding globally via additional subsidiaries including the U.S. As a result of this growth, our client now seeks an experienced COO to partner with the new U.S.CEO and assist in establishing U.S. operations. The mission of the COO is to build and develop supply chain management within the new U.S. subsidiary. The COO will establish and lead the Procurement, Logistics, Facility Management & IT operations. Specific responsibilities include:
Develop and monitor yearly, quarterly and monthly plans to align the logistic & SCM capacity with the strategic plan and latest forecasted demand in order to meet customer expectations and deliver high productivity. Continue monitor and improve performance. Develop and implement a process to align and coordinate capital investments in the business related SCM. Attract, develop and retain top talent in the business unit. Support mission, vision and business strategy (define KPIs and KPMs for employees measure and support targets) Define and install logistics concept in accordance with the board and legal regulations for the U.S. subsidiary. Coordinate legal affairs within the fields of responsibility (Insurances, etc.). Work closely with central strategic procurement in Germany. Build relationship and maintain direct contact with local suppliers.
The company has already established several aggressive target goals for the U.S. subsidiary. These include:
Establish the Powerplant Business in California in 2010, the Southwest States in 2011, Northeast Region (New Jersey Area) in 2012/3 and Southeast Region in 2014. The Component, Systems and Project Development Business will start in 2012/13 as well. The Market share for the U.S. subsidiary will be 6.4% by 2014 (Utility, Residential, Commercial & Government). Deliverables in 2010: Build up the project pipeline (about 20-35 larger projects in progress). First 2-3 larger projects in 2011, growth rate will become larger every year. Build up relationships with potential partners.
REQUIREMENTS:
10 years of SCM and logistics experience in an international (i.e. European) environment in PV industry. Experience in the area of Strategic Procurement, Logistics and Transport. Previous senior leadership role in matrix organization. Relevant expertise in the areas of Engineering and SCM. Experience with Capital Investment is a plus.

EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Logistics or other related field.
