DESCRIPTION:
Headquartered in Europe, our client is a leading international photovoltaic systems integrator. The company plans, builds and operates large photovoltaic plants and is a specialist wholesaler for complete power plants, solar modules, components and accessories. It has become the market leader in the planning and construction of solar power plants.

Our client has grown significantly; from $360M in 2007 to over $665M in 2009. The company is expanding globally via additional subsidiaries including the U.S. As a result of this growth, our client now seeks a qualified CEO to take the company through the development of the US/North American market.

The mission of the CEO, USA is to continue strengthening their leading market position with the objective of increasing sales and earnings via the management and the strategic direction of the U.S. subsidiary. He/she will control the activities of the branches, covering the USA and North America. Key deliverables include:
„X Establish the company¡¦s Powerplant Business in California in 2010 and for the Southwest States in 2011, Northeast Region (New Jersey Area) in 2012/3 and Southeast Region in 2014.
„X Establish the U.S. subsidiary¡¦s market share to be 6,4% by 2014 (Utility, Residential, Commercial & Government).
„X Build up the Project Pipeline (about 20-35 larger projects in progress). First 2-3 larger projects in 2011, growth rate becoming larger every year.
„X Build up cooperation with potential partners.
This position will focus on the implementation of tools and methods to optimize the entire sales organization, including the training and coaching of field staff. S/he will also work to identify opportunities for further market penetration in the region. The CEO, USA will report directly to the CSO of the Company Group in Germany.
This position requires a leader who can build up and develop the company. The U.S. subsidiary requires consistent leadership internally and externally. The candidate must have a high degree of focus on results.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 10 years experience in strategic and field sales positions (ideally within photovoltaic or related industries). Most recent experience should have been leading a company as CEO or board member, ideally working for or with European companies. Must have a solid understanding of the market mechanisms of Photovoltaic or similar industries. Besides a proper use of activity ratios, she/he must be a conceptual and strategic thinking person with pragmatism. She/he must know how to motivate the team to top performance and lead to progress in the market.
