Executive Job Description | A mid sized south east US based insurance company privately held doing over $100M in premium.
HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL. A rated.
- the right kind of CEO for that company. They should have good exp. In understanding what it takes to run an insurance company, a risk taker. Not an insurance agency. - Need a very clear understanding of personal lines business and some commercial - Commercial property is an important element that person should have - MUST have a strong understanding of insurance finance. - a plus if this person had some sort of actuarial back ground doesn’t have to be a fellow but understands the nuances of what it means to develop rates and so forth - This person will be responsible for the entire company including all marketing, claims, underwriting, - ( they don’t need a strong marketing back ground .) - Key is strong management, management skills. Need to understand how to manage the marketing people. - better if the person has an understanding of the FL. landscape.
This person has to understand reinsurance, they don’t have to be a reinsurance pro but has to know it.
Need somebody who’s energy level is still pretty high.
Should NOT be a claims person
Somebody who’s had practical command of running an insurance company or a division for a bigger company. Maybe he’s running a. division subsidiary , he may be running 100M dollar book of business
Need a person who’s going to come in there and predict what kind of problems could be taken before the effect of a decision is made in other words if I go this route this is what could happen.
Need someone proactive and need to think like the owner. Needs to be well grounded needs energy but not flamboyant.A business grounded person.. Need personal lines. Exp in running a company or big division in PL. Understand reinsurance. Be a motivator and leader, have vision. Understand financial statements.
