Executive Job Description | An international conglomerate located north of Boston has implemented and intends to expand their shared service model. To that end, they have engaged us to source an accomplished finance professional with deep expertise in the establishment and expansion of shared service organizations. Reporting to their Chief Financial Officer, the new VP will be responsible for a growing team of finance, accounting and other operations support personnel.
Current services are focused on accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll services and tax/ treasury expertise. You will have an initial team of over 25 professionals with an anticipated expansion to support a spectrum of additional back-office support activities that will be consolidated from the various divisions to this corporate shared services operation. At this time, all North American groups will be supported with a future prospect of assuming additional international service responsibilities. The selected executive will have a high caliber employment history that will likely include both public and private industry experience. You must have had 5 or more years in a formal management capacity and a shared service background is essential. The new VP of Shared Services will have strong corporate accounting and financial reporting management expertise and have a demonstrated ability to lead efficiencies while ensuring strong controls and compliance with established and evolving GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
Communication, organization and the ability to foster a win-win relationship with key stakeholders within each division is of strategic importance to success in this responsibility. Ideally you will be able to share very specific examples of your success in this respect. Experience consolidating non-finance services including but not limited to sales, compensation, legal and contract management as well as inter-divisional transactions and communication is very desirable.
Prior leadership in the integration of organizations, introduction of new ERP platform(s) and / or migration of large business entities to a common platform would be a significant advantage in this selection process.
