Executive Job Description | The Senior Tax Accountant will research and gather data for the preparation and filing of federal and state income and franchise tax returns for a multi-billion dollar and multi-state retail company. The Sr. Tax Accountant will also assist with financial statement income tax accounting, quarterly estimated payments, and providing information for audits and notices.
Responsibilities • Calculation of income tax amounts (income and expense) where the income tax amounts differ from the amounts computed for financial statement purposes. These calculations are to be made on a quarterly and annual basis. • Collection of information for use in multi-state income tax apportionment. • Annual preparation of income tax based trial balances. • Preparation of the income tax return extensions. • Assist in the preparation of the annual federal and state income tax returns. • Maintains an income tax related due date listing and documents compliance with the due dates. • Administers the preparation of the quarterly income tax estimated payments. • Assist the senior tax manager - audits with income tax audits. • Promptly research and respond to all income tax related notices. • Other special projects as assigned.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience is required. 3 - 5 years income tax experience required Experience calculating Schedule M-3 adjustments. Experience with consolidated and multi-state returns preferred. MS Excel - pivot tables, v-lookup, advanced computations. MS Access preferred. Experience with corporate and partnership Tax preparation software. Strong communication skills. Ability to be a team player and is customer service driven. Ability to complete work in advance of deadlines. Self-motivated with solid organizational, planning and prioritizing skills. |
