Executive Job Description | The Senior Accountant will be a member of the SEC Reporting Group that prepares various consolidated external financial reports for filing with the SEC and issuance to the public, including Form 10-Ks (Annual Report),Form 10-Qs (quarterly reports) and quarterly Earnings Releases. The position involves a significant amount of financial report data and commentary preparation as well as accounting/reporting research and process improvement projects. Likewise, it requires strong understanding of FASB and SEC accounting and disclosure requirements and how they relate to the businesses of the Company, as well as the ability to spot data issues through analysis of financial detail from the general ledger and off-ledger information provided by Company business units. You will be involved in the implementation of new FASB and SEC rules and regulations and must be able to understand and communicate complex accounting issues. You will regularly interact with many important financial and reporting groups of the Company, such as Investor Relations, Corporate Credit, Treasury, ALCO, Accounting Policy, Financial Planning and Analysis, Legal and the business unit group controllers and their reporting teams. As part of your regular interaction you will be expected to develop an understanding of their businesses, products, systems, key sources of financial reporting information, and other matters important to help gather and explain the Company's financial results to the public.

Qualifications Bachelors Degree is strongly preferred. 5 years of accounting experience (preferably at least two years in public accounting and auditing) Significant experience with the preparation of financial statements and SEC 10 - Q/Ks Strong knowledge of FASB accounting and disclosure requirements for the financial services industry Ability to identify, research and resolve financial reporting issues Having critical financial analytical skills Communication skills must include the ability to explain complex financial and accounting matters in simple and easy to understand terms for public consumption. Sound GAAP and SEC knowledge Strong financial reporting skills Utilization of good controls Timely, accurate, clear, and complete reporting to the public Ability to work in cross functional teams to help implement reporting process improvements Strong organizational and analytical skills, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks Strong written and oral communication skills Detail oriented Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Hyperion Essbase is required. Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team Understanding of XBRL requirements and experience with XBRL tagging Project management experience for complex projects is essential in this position.
