Executive Job Description | The Manager of Treasury Accounting will be an integral part of the Treasury Group Controller team and provides oversight and management, an SEC registered real estate investment trust. This position provides leadership and coordination of the companys general accounting, financial reporting, asset acquisitions, budgeting, and financial analysis. This oversight role also ensures the system of internal controls provides reasonable assurance as to the integrity and reliability of financial data, the protection of assets, and the prevention of unauthorized use or disposition of assets.
Responsibilities Act as a point of contact between Treasury, Controllers Division and lines of business. Coordinate transaction flows across groups to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data. Maintain knowledge of current accounting practices and regulatory requirements that pertain to our client. Ensure knowledge of transactions and propriety of their reflection in the general ledger and presentation in the financial statements to support quarterly Group Representation Letters and SOX Back-up Certificates for Treasury. Complete Quarterly Control Assessment questionnaires. Act as liaison with business lines to source assets and coordinate purchases. Oversee month-end general ledger close process. Analyze financial results, informing management of trends and variances and recommend appropriate action. Ensure compliance with external accounting principles and internal accounting and accounting control policies. Manage completion and review of quarterly financial data in support of quarterly and annual financial reporting to ensure accurate and timely submissions. Ensure proper reflection of supplemental data in financial statements. Assist in preparation and review of financial materials to executive level committees. Participate in corporate wide projects resulting from significant changes in GAAP and integrate changes into accounting policies and procedures. Create and maintain efficient and effective system of financial controls, processes and procedures to ensure accuracy of data. Act as key point of contact to internal and external auditors.

Qualifications Bachelors Degree is require. CPA is required. 5 years progressive accounting experience is required. Public accounting experience is strongly preferred. 3 years of management, specifically with direct reports and hire/fire responsibility. Practical accounting experience in areas pertinent to Treasury products (securities, derivatives and hedging, wholesale funding, BOLI) Experience with financial reporting and complex accounting processes. Demonstrated leadership, initiative, ability to work and make independent decisions and ability to work effectively on teams. Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting concepts and practices and demonstrated ability to interpret and apply guidelines. Ability to understand existing workflow and identify process improvements that will contribute to the effectiveness of our team. Ability to summarize issues and communicate findings and recommendations to management. Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written. Ability to multitask, prioritize and work well while meeting deadlines. Candidates must be either current US Citizens or Green Card holders. |
