Executive Job Description
Insurance and financial services division of an international conglomerate is seeking an AVP level addition of talent to their internal audit and controls group. Although much focus will be given to ongoing IA activities and controls reviews, the selected professional will be a point person on all external audit projects as well.

Initial assignments will be related to their insurance arm and will require experience with Life insurance in particular. Any experience with Annuity products would be helpful. Any exposure to third party subcontractor relationships would be a plus as cooperative business relationships is a common model being used.

Responsibilities include:

•Execute internal and external audits in close coordination with the business units;
•Ensure that all documentation meets defined standards for content and detail;
•Identify and define risk issues, evaluate controls required and formulate recommendations and present to appropriate management and business stakeholders;
•Development of a solid understanding of business lines and related products and operations is critically important;
•Present audit conclusions and findings, and present same to management and subcontracting organizations as necessary;
•Participate in process and procedure enhancements; this may include the introduction of new automated processes or application products.

Requirements include:

•5 to 10 years audit and risk experience including work within or supporting Life Insurance client(s);
•Any annuity experience desirable;
•BS/BA is a minimum, MS / MBA strongly preferred;
•CIA or CISA are pluses;
•Well documented experience leading high visibility projects;
•Strong analytical skills required;
•Ability to prioritize and multi-task are essential traits for success in this role;
•Knowledge of fixed and variable life insurance products desired;
•Advanced Excel skills required with knowledge / experience with VBA a significant plus;
•A consultative skill set and demeanor is important as you will often lead projects utilizing the resources of other areas / managers;
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential;
•Demonstrated attention to details with very strong follow through are very important attributes.
