Our client is a well known Global Family Office with a strong focus on the Latin America Region that provides wealth management, investment management, capital markets services and merchant banking solutions.
Position Description
The Head of Portfolio Manager will function as a member of the Executive Board and will play an influential role in the management and leadership of the organization with specific responsibility for the performance of a substantial team in charge of managing the portfolio of assets. The position will report to the Managing Directors and the Investment Committee, and will supervise 2 Senior Managers, 1 Junior Portfolio Manager and 4 Associates.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for a quota or budget of $2.5 Billion in AUM and for the supervision of 50 client relationships. Responsible for originating and maintain new clients. Sell products to clients but not necessarily the companys proprietary products. Responsible for building the internal network and developing overall strategy. Review best practice processes and procedures for the portfolio management side of the business, thereby ensuring the delivery of value for money. Ensure that the business is sufficiently agile to respond to change through ensuring the continuous review of strategy and processes.
Requirements 12 to 15 years of experience. Prior hedge fund experience at senior level, investment professional preferred. Experience in manager selection, monitoring and transaction execution. Portfolio building experience, including asset allocation and portfolio matrix. Experience with portfolio risk management and monitoring. Experience with transition management and processes and procedures. Internal and external client facing skills. Must demonstrate strong analytical skills and good understanding of portfolio construction. Must have strong history of achievement through career progression and/or track record. Team player and ability to work in a small, independent organization with limited support. Entrepreneurial style, self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. High level contacts and/or membership to institutions in the financial community both in Miami and Latin America. Ability to gain the trust of internal and external clients and staff including RMs, Custodians, Brokers and Fund Managers as well as the reporting department. B.A. in Business in Finance, MBA / CFA preferred. Advanced computer skills. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish).
