Executive Job Description | SUMMARY: A major restaurant and hospitality brand in Orlando is seeking a solid Corporate Controller responsible for the preparation of all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial modeling analysis for executive management and the operating team. The Corporate Controller will provide analytical and decision support material to required stakeholders and identify opportunities to enhance profitability throughout the system. To establish, communicate and implement defined standards on financial systems and controls for the existing business and for future growth. To serve as supportive liaison to the field providing accurate information and direction in a timely manner to enhance profitability.
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assists in the preparation of the Company’s financial budgeting and forecast process. • Improves automation and speed of information. • Develops key variance schedules (i.e. sales, gross margin analysis, pricing…). • Communicates and coordinates with operating team. • Assists in the preparation of budget presentations; the production of periodic financials, statistics and operational metrics for senior management; and the preparation of financial projection models. (High/low scenarios & Sensitivity analysis) • Assists in the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to stakeholders, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies. • Reviews reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals, and suggests methods of improving the planning process as appropriate. • Maintains financial forecasting system to provide short- and long-term visibility to crucial financial decision points. • Develops and maintains cost-effective systems that ensure timely and accurate tracking and reporting of all key financial and statistical data. • Improves profitability of the organization through better use of systems, procedures and assets.
REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate will: • Drive the budgeting and forecasting process with extreme attention to detail . • Have the ability to analyze data and present it in a usable format. • Develop, interpret and implement financial concepts for financial planning, analysis and control, including forecasting and reporting. • Be a team player that can freely exchange ideas with other staff members. • Display excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in addition to strong critical reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills. • Have a minimum of five years experience in finance and accounting. • Possess strong PC skills including expertise with relevant advanced financial systems/applications, financial modeling, word processing and spreadsheet applications (i.e., Microsoft Word and Excel). • Display a solid understanding of accounting ethics and principles and be extremely conscientious. Restaurant/hospitality experience is preferred.
EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. A CPA or MBA is preferable.
