Executive Job Description
The Controller is responsible for leading the commercial controllership processes, contract review and analysis, financial accounting compliance to GAAP, account reconciliation process, financial reporting, and monthly closing, and is an integral part of both the Controllership team as well as the business.



Essential Responsibilities



· Lead the commercial controllership processes, including revenue recognition compliance and analysis.· Partner with the commercial and operational teams, and lead the continuous implementation of process improvement initiatives to maximize department productivity, particularly related to revenue recognition.· Review non-standard commercial contracts (Policy 5.0) and assess accounting implications.· Lead the monthly close processes, and prepares and monitor corporate reporting submission at month and quarter end.· research and implementation of complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition.· Lead Sarbanes-Oxley 404 documentation and testing. · driving implementation and adoption of internal controls.· financial reporting and general ledger preparation, review, and analysis.· ad hoc analysis and reports.· Prepare analysis for internal and external auditors, as needed. · Promote and comply with EHS and Quality regulations.· Perform other duties and projects, as assigned.



Qualifications/Requirements



· Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or business· At least 7 years of professional work experience in accounting or finance· Previous experience in US GAAP· CPA or CMA or similar certification· Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, COGNOS, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, VLookup, & Macros).· You must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background.· You must be willing to take a drug test.· You must be legally authorized to work in the United States.·



Desired Characteristics



·Corporate Audit Staff or graduate of other financial leadership programs· Trained and/or certified in process improvement methodology such as LEAN or Six Sigma· 2-5 years of public accounting experience· Revenue Recognition knowledge (SAB 104, SOP 97-2, EITF 00-21, FAS 13)· Previous work experience with SOX 404· Demonstrated ability to research and solve complex accounting issues· Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change. · Clear thinking / problem solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement; able to grasp new ideas quickly.· Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing.· Confidence / Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions; confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position; for example, work closely with business leaders to achieve business objectives while driving controllership/ Values· Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows· Demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment and succeed in a matrixed environment· Adaptable/flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations· Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others·
