Executive Job Description | Commercial Markets Actuarial Pricing and Modeling department supports operating units that write middle market, specialty, and national market risks. This department is seeking an experienced actuary to manage its General Liability Line of Business unit; this newly created position will focus on special studies, market support, analytical tools, and coordination of portfolio modeling projects. Responsibilities: Working with internal customers, IT, and our portfolio modeling team to coordinate data gathering, modeling and implementation. Interacting with market customers (underwriting, loss prevention, claims, actuarial, fraud) to create tools, benchmarks and research that support their initiatives. Working on technical studies with our pricing tools group. Generating innovative ideas and approaches to business problems. Managing a small staff of actuarial and/or business analysts.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) or near-FCAS designation preferred 5-10 years of progressively responsible experience, including supervisory experience Detailed knowledge of commercial lines (commercial ratemaking experience would be a plus) Modeling knowledge a plus Effective management skills, and the ability to develop and maintain high-performing staff Good negotiating skills, and demonstrated ability to exchange ideas and convey complex information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of casualty actuarial techniques, standards, and assumptions Benefits: We recognize that talented people are attracted to companies that provide competitive pay, comprehensive benefits packages and outstanding advancement opportunities.
