Executive Job Description	The Manager of Mechanical Design will provide technical leadership and expert knowledge to Mechanical Design Engineers working to push the state of the art in turbine frames and cases design. Work closely with the Hot Section Chief Engineer and airframe customers to identify design solutions that meet or exceed program requirements on several exciting programs. Serve as Module Center Engineering team member for managing the Mechanical Design Discipline with emphasis on the Hot Section Engineering mechanical design strategy. Provide guidance and mentoring for developing mechanical arrangements that result in products and components that are low cost and competitively superior. Provide proactive technical guidance in the resolution of module level technical problems and issues. As a member of the Design Technical Discipline Steering Team, develop and manage Mechanical Design tools, methodology and criteria, and their connection with analytical design systems and product data management systems. Maintain awareness of emerging trends in mechanical design processes and product technologies. BEST INDUSTRY – Aerospace/Defense BEST DEPARTMENT – Engineering Qualifications PhD in Mechanical Engineering is required. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of mechanical design experience in the design of turbine cases and frames. 5+ years of managing and directing a team of 4 or more Mechanical Design Engineers are required. Strong communication skills (i.e. verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation) are required. Strong program management capability - demonstrated ability to lead and manage complicated, large Engineering projects is required.
