P.S. As an aside, the Bakersfield area offers some of the most affordable housing in California, the noted lack of metropolitan ills (spend your time living not commuting), and ready access to a myriad of recreational options (snow skiing, water skiing, golf, fishing, hunting, world class river rafting/kayaking, some of the best Basque food in the US, just a couple of hours to the coast through the movie version of the valley of Shangri-La, aka, Ojai Valley, and, if Tinseltown is your pleasure, it is only a couple of hours over the Grapevine). |
