The main responsibilities of the Engineering Manager are:
•Providing supervision to a team of engineers and draftsmen; •Ensuring quality of engineering deliverables, including issues related to fit for purpose, safety, health, environment, security and cost; •Developing and preparing new equipment and vessels that suit the Company aspirations and objectives; •Reviewing workload and adjusting human resource capacity accordingly; •Management of engineering knowledge; •Ensuring that engineering staff is adequately skilled, experienced, trained and educated; •Allocation of engineering staff to tasks; •Ensuring optimal performance of engineering staff; •Engineering man-hour budget control; •Assisting Manager Proposals in preparation of Proposal Documents; •Ensuring that all relevant disciplines are involved in review cycle of engineering deliverables; •Ensuring that expertise of operational staff is utilized during project preparations; •Keeping abreast of innovative engineering developments; •Innovating and renewing engineering methods and solutions; •Motivation of engineering staff; •Control of engineering related documentation; •Identification and reporting of technical areas of concern to Group Engineering Manager.
Required skills/experience: •Master Degree in engineering or alternatively bachelor degree with extensive experience in design and engineering; •Management skills training; •Project management training; •Relevant offshore training; •Minimum of 10 years of experience in design & engineering, of which a minimum of 5 years in the offshore industry; •Good practical and theoretical knowledge of offshore transportation, installation and pipelay techniques; •Good knowledge of English language both written and spoken; •Capable to motivate and manage subordinates and colleagues.
