Executive Job Description
A rapidly-expanding brand innovation consulting firm is seeking a Consultant to lead large-scale consulting engagements that address the growth-related challenges faced by its clients. Unique in its industry, this firm combines the strategic and analytic rigor of a strategy consulting firm with the creative power of a “boutique” marketing idea shop and its consultants leverage their strong marketing backgrounds to lead clients through a comprehensive process that finds future marketing opportunity space and fills it with ownable innovation. The Consultant will lead the team on client projects, delivering breakthrough insights and analysis plus strategic and creative solutions to branding and innovation challenges. He/she will have significant client interaction during engagements, will assist senior management in new business development efforts and will lead and mentor one or more Analysts who provide key analytical support. Unlike many consulting opportunities, this position requires only 20% travel. The organization culture is collaborative, creative, conceptual and integrative and recognizes people for their contributions. Position can be located in Chicago or Ann Arbor, Michigan. Qualifications: BA/BS, MBA strongly preferred, and 5-7 years of classical CPG brand management, including some new product development work, or consumer insights experience at strong consumer products companies. Candidates must be strategically astute and creative conceptually, have a deep understanding of consumer insights and an understanding of quantitative and qualitative research techniques, and be able to synthesize significant amounts of data and integrate it into a compelling story for written and oral presentation to clients. Demonstrated ability in project management and business writing, with an overall “big picture” understanding of the issues and business in general and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are mandatory, as are exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent client service orientation, ability to work in a collaborative environment and strong work ethic.
