ROLE OBJECTIVE Managing a Global team of Technology Engineers to provide technology strategy and solutions, in direct alignment and support of RIS Point of Sale Branding Solutions teams or Permanent Branding Solutions teams. This role serves as a point interface for all matters pertaining to Global Engineering with these RIS commercial teams. This position leads projects and develops equipment and process technology related to Productivity and or Capacity Improvement, New Product Development and Introduction, and Safety, while providing technical support for existing manufacturing processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Identify and lead projects to improve productivity and generate year over year cost savings for the business. Develop new equipment or process technology to drive business results. Provide technical support to the Maintenance and Operations groups to ensure outstanding Customer Service. Leads cross-functional teams when required to gain additional operations input, determine course of action, and utilize additional resources to deliver key objectives. Develop financial justification for projects and prepare formal funding requests to $1MM. Manage Capital spending to ensure projects are completed within budget and achieve expected results. 50% to 75% International Travel- Asia.
STRATEGIC PLANNING Participates in technology strategy development (includes new technology scanning/implementation, and external benchmarking). Responsible for capacity planning, capital planning, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement. Develops staffing and resource plans to meet business objectives. Provides input to sourcing strategy including equipment transfers.
GROWTH AND INNOVATION Ensures that all new product commercialization have appropriate SC leadership & resources assigned. Ensures that viable value stream in place to ensure service, quality and reliability for new product commercialization within the site / region. Acts as a key SC partner with Marketing and Product Development in the qualification and commercialization of new products.
ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP Serves as single point of contact with for deployment of global process platforms in the site / region. Integrates product development, marketing & manufacturing. Manages people, which include: giving feedback, coaching, conducting GPS, performance management, objective setting, development planning, career discussions, talent assessment, and succession planning.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT AND COST REDUCTION Leads/supports all division process/product improvements (could also include implementation). Facilitates sharing of best practices between plants. Utilizes Six Sigma & Lean tools in daily work.
CAPITAL & EXPENSE MANAGEMENT Prepares Corporate Authorizations for Expenditure. Manages expense budget to plan/forecast. Develops expense budget consistent with division goals and objectives.
