General Description:
The leader in clinical skincare in both the retail and professional arenas is seeking a Director of Education, to report into the Global Marketing department.
This position will work directly with the brand’s president, research and development team and the marketing and brand managers in translating science terminology into education modules for both the esthetic community as well as the general consumer. He or she will develop strong partnerships with the sales channels to understand their end consumer and provide appropriate content and substantiation to support sell-in and sell-through initiatives.
This position will generate content to support the brand in communication vehicles ranging from technical documents, including technical briefs and product knowledge profiles, through to consumer communications (in concert with the marketing teams).
The candidate will have experience developing educational curriculum, training the field educators and communicating with education peers from our major specialty retail partners and professional channels. This will also be a self-motivated individual who will seek out new ways to maintain the brand’s competitive edge by maintaining excellence in education through innovative means. Examples include but are not limited to: conducting online seminars for both the end consumer as well as esthetic professional, creating educational programs for the esthetic community, working with Professional National Program Developer on creating new curriculum for esthetic schools. He or she must have outstanding presentation and inter-personal communication skills, with demonstrated proficiencies in both a technical and consumer arena.
Primary Job Functions:
§ Review INCI and translate into the features and benefits language for the marketing team
§ Partner with Marketing on product position
§ Partner with Product Development on innovation, ingredient stories and understanding of
competitive landscape
§ Develop training materials for new product launches and ongoing product training. Develop product knowledge modules for retail, consumer and trade arenas
§ Work with Public Relations to position product features and benefit stories for both trade and consumer press
§ Presenting at national sales events and speaking or holding classes at key industry functions, including trade shows
§ Present with Marketing to major retail partners and their education teams as needed
§ Strategically direct all education and training activities to provide innovation and results oriented selling tools and techniques
§ Design and develop core and quarterly training programs to support product launches as well as ongoing comp business
§ Develop and manage Education budget
§ Participate in the orientation of new field sales reps, regionals and field educators
§ Fact check on product claims and consumer marketing copy
§ Play a strategic role in our content and communication strategy; help develop a “skin expert” voice for the brand
§ Other responsibilities as required and as the position evolves
Skills & Requirements:
§ Must have excellent presentation and communication skills

§ Must be a self-starter who exercises flexibility and adaptability in responding to change and opportunity
§ Certified/licensed Esthetician or cosmetologist
§ Track record of education development with a background in science-based education
§ Strong sense of competitive landscape
§ Strong leadership skills and team player
§ Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Internet)
§ Knowledge of interactive training programs and tools
§ Ability to travel throughout the geographic region as necessary; some international travel may be required
§ Ability to motivate and inspire other professionals in the industry; demonstrated understanding of professional industry
Education Requirements:
• College degree and a minimum of 5+ year experience in skincare education

2. 5+ year experience in skincare education (current or very recent).
3. Must have excellent presentation and communication skills.
4. Certified/licensed Esthetician or cosmetologist.
5. 3 + years in management, motivating and inspiring others.
6. 3 + years experience with interactive training programs and tools.
