Job Description
Reporting to the CMO, this strategic position will be responsible for developing and leading all online branding, marketing communications and PR initiatives to insure growth and marketplace dominance for a young, innovative, profitable and growing online consumer financial services company. Serving as brand steward, this position will lead the organization in developing a branding and positioning that will unify all elements of the business (there are 4 unique products currently within the company, with the expectation of more to come) and insure that a single corporate identity and style unites them all. She/he will develop the brand architecture, branding strategies and a quantifiable brand tracking construct to evaluate investments into the brand; lead all naming and visual design initiatives; develop all consumer positioning and messaging strategies; and recommend and execute an annual marketing plan that includes messaging and promotional strategies built upon competitive, segmentation and research analysis. The position will also oversee multiple agency relationships and work within a matrix structure to manage internal employees. Salary: $110-130K plus bonus – commensurate with experience. Qualifications: Mandatory MBA with a 7-12 years experience building and managing consumer services brands, a deep understanding of brand architecture strategy and all marcom strategies and processes, and some Internet experience. Branding visionary who like being hands-on — with in-depth understanding of brand architecture and all brand management disciplines, including traditional and non-traditional advertising and creative services processes, market research, forecasting, and experience launching new and groundbreaking offerings. Proven ability to work proactively toward a goal without significant structure or rules; to make decisions with limited data; to thrive in a fast paced, ever-changing and cross-functional environment; and to over-deliver on stretch goals. Also required are outstanding verbal and written skills with the ability to present data and conclusions in an organized, concise manner to all levels throughout the company. Chicago candidates are strongly preferred.
